9/30/20: Wisdom Wednesday (Proverbs 30:5)

“…He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭30:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In these modern times in America, it’s hard to picture or imagine the importance of a shield of old. However, a shield would literally save someone’s life, especially in times of war.

Have there been times in your life when you look back and know you were shielded from something; some kind of hurt or harm?  I can remember, on more than one occasion, while riding in a car (as a driver or passenger),  I saw another car run a red light or jump lanes suddenly and knew we were going to be hit and yet, somehow, we escaped unscathed, unhit. Many of these occasions, I still don’t know how. Think of ways wherein you’ve escaped some kind of danger and Thank Him for keeping you and your loved ones safe.

I also remember a car accident wherein we were hit, head-on by an extra cab pick up truck. That was one of the most scariest moments of my life, especially since the kids were in the car. We were hit head-on in the rain. Unscathed? No, we had bruises and other issues.  But, truth be told, it wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been, especially considering the little sedan we were driving was totaled.

One thing I’ve learned is things seldom turn out the way I expect but He  still has kept us in ways I could never imagine. Let’s thank Him for these times. Be blessed. Inspired. Purposed. Ready.

BE. Inspired. Purposed. Ready.

09/23/20: Wisdom Wednesday (Proverbs 23:12)

Some things we have a choice in doing. What are you choosing to do today?  What are you “applying your heart” towards today? How can we be sure we are focusing on the right things?

Some things are a given and, oftentimes, yet are completely taken for granted. Waking up in the morning and seeing the world around us. Walking to the bathroom, having movement in our limbs. Being able to breathe fresh air.

On the other hand, as obvious as it may sound, some things we have no control over. These are things we should not focus on or waste our energies trying to change. Focus on the things you can change, on the things you can do. For there, one’s efforts are not wasted.

09/16/20: Wisdom Wednesday (Proverbs 16:3)

Sometimes, doing simple or mundane tasks can actually appear frivolous or even unnecessary. But to forego the seemingly menial tasks can ultimately create confusion and chaos. Do the little things and do them well. In the end, you won’t be disappointed. You’ll be able to look back with a sense of completion on what you have accomplished. Every step counts. Even the small things count when we commit them to Him.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin,*Zechariah‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

09/02/20: Wisdom Wednesday (Proverbs 2:8)

{Even though we just started September and our theme of “Make the Leap”, Wednesdays are Wisdom Wednesdays here at Mocha Momma Café™️ and we choose a verse from the chapter of Proverbs that correlates for that day (i.e. Wednesday, the 2nd day of September uses a verse from Proverbs Chapter 2.)}

Being reminded of God’s Word and Promises, in tough times, can often feel like two opposing ends of a spectrum. On one hand, we have what looks and feels like our current reality and, on the other end, we have His promises.

Sometimes, it seems as if the two, our current reality and the Promise, will never meet, will never collide into our current with a certainty and suddenly. But, in His timing, they will and they do. It may not look the way we want or the way we’ve envisioned in our mind.

In these times we must remember, “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”* Numbers‬ ‭23:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In other words, God is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do. Actually, to Him, it’s already done. We’re just trying to catch up to His Reality, His timing while waiting for His will to become revealed in our lives. Just remember for Him a Promise said is a Promise complete.

We have to trust that He is going to guard us on the path He is guiding us on.  We must also remember He is faithful and because He is, we can be also as He strengthens us.

So take that step. Make the leap. Do you Boo. And remember, just BE.

BE. Inspired. Purposed. Ready.
